Gerrit Cole's first rehab start with the Somerset Patriots was in front of the largest crowd in their history of 8,260 on June 4. He pitched against the Rockies Double-A Affiliate, the Hartford Yard Goats, and looked good for his first official rehab.

Bridgewater, NJâ The Somerset Patriots are back in town after being defeated by the New Hampshire FisherCats, Toronto's Double-A Affiliate at the Delta Dental Stadium. The Patriots are now 4-5 after the road trip, they closed the series with the FisherCats and were defeated with a score of 13-9. They tacked on some runs late in the game after a crooked 13-4 in the sixth inning. The silver lining of the series was Patriots' catcher, Agustin Ramirez.

Bridgewater, NJ β The Somerset Patriots took the series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Opening Week. The three-game series began on Friday night at TD Bank Ballpark in style, with back-to-back home runs from Ben Rice and Agustin Ramirez in each of their first at-bats. Rice, who was inserted into the Somerset lineup after Spencer Jones was scratched (stiff neck,) picked up right where he left off in 2023, belting the second pitch he saw over the right field wall.

Tampa, FL --The New York Yankees' catching depth will be tested early this spring. Yankees' starting catcher, Jose Trevino, will be sidelined for a few weeks due to a strained calf. Aaron Boone announced the news at the Yankees' first workout on February 14th but added that Trevino is expected to be ready by Opening Day. Trevino struggled through injuries last year, and he will try to turn the page and remain healthy this season. He is a great defensive catcher.
