I heard "reference" used to describe product quality (mostly audio) at #CEDIAExpo 2022 so often that I'm thinking marketers have hijacked the term. Does anyone else suspect this?

When Elon Musk inevitably live-Tweets his entire legal battle with Twitter over whether or not he can be compelled to buy Twitter, the whole thing will be so meta that I wonder if the company formerly known as Facebook will jump in with a copyright infringement claim.
