Good morning, hockey fans. Both elimination games did their thing last night, so the Canadiens and the Lightning join the Devils in Cookedville USA. If the Devils were the most obvious first-round exit of the 2025 playoffs due to injury, the Canadiens were right behind them due to youth, strength of opponent, and eventually, injury. As the prophecy foretold, Alex Ovechkin finally struck on a cold Capitals power play in Game 5 to open the scoring.
