Well, friends, the Chicago Blackhawks came back to force a shootout Monday night, spoiling the Canadiens’ opportunity to clinch a playoff spot had they secured the regulation dub. Good for the Blackhawks – if they’d lost, they would’ve become the first team since 1992-93 to lose to every opponent in the league in one season. By not totally sucking (only kind of sucking) they also managed to keep Columbus’ playoff hopes alive down to the wire.

These three weeks will be as entertaining as the regular season gets, with Alex Ovechkin within reach of the all-time goals record and the five-team pileup that is the battle for the East's No. 2 wild-card spot. At this point, though, we pretty much know who the top dogs are. As the Capitals and Jets duke it out for the Presidents' Trophy, good vibes persist in Washington and elite goaltending persists in Winnipeg.

The writing was on the wall when John Tortorella took the blame for the latest Flyers blowout loss Tuesday, a 7-2 thrashing at the hands of the Maple Leafs. "This falls on me," he said postgame in a clip that's now circulating all over social media. "I'm not really interested in learning how to coach in this type of season, where we're at right now. But I have to do a better job.
