Co-authors Amie Archibald-Varley and Sara Fung are registered nurses and co-hosts of The Gritty Nurse podcast, in which they talk to nurses all over the world. They admire the legendary Florence Nightingale as everybody’s image of the immortal nurse.

AMIE ARCHIBALD-VARLEY, RN, BN, MScN-CP Women’s Health, received her bachelor of nursing from the University of New Brunswick and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Toronto. She also completed a collaborative master’s degree program with the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at U of T in women’s health. She has worked in many roles: labour and delivery nurse, maternal child nurse, educator and professional practice clinician. Varley is a co-host of The Gritty Nurse podcast.
