Altuve has been okay offensively at the position, hitting .274 with three home runs and three steals, and has been decent defensively as well, with only one error on the season. The prospect of moving Altuve back to second base isn’t about his performance in left field thus far, however; it’s more about improving the lineup by exploring decent replacement options at the position.

Cincinnati RedsThe potent Reds offense absolutely unloaded on the Baltimore Orioles earlier this week ,winning their Sunday contest 24-2 in a game that saw every Reds hitter in the starting lineup notch at least one hit. Recent call up and former top prospect Noelvi Marte had himself quite the game going five for seven with two doubles, a grand slam, three runs scored and seven RBI. The performance has earned Marte more playing time – and he's kept moving up the lineup.

Arizona DiamondbacksThe elbow injury for Diamondbacks' LHP A.J. Puk looks to have solidified the position of RHP Justin Martinez as the team's closer for the time being. Houston AstrosWith the injury to Spencer Arrighetti, the Astros are searching for a fifth starter. Ryan Gusto made the spot start this past week and allowed three earned runs over four innings, but the Astros had used him out of the bullpen before the start. Last year at Triple-A, Gusto made 29 total appearances with 26 starts and was quite serviceable. He can fill in for now, but he may not be the best option longterm. Lance McCullers Jr. is currently rehabbing his way back from another injury.
