KazTransOil national oil transporter delivered 21.3 million t of oil in total through the main oil pipeline system in the first six months of this year, which is 1.3 million t more than in the same period last year, the company has recently reported.

Pipeline and terminal operator Kinder Morgan on 19 July posted lower-than-expected 2Q23 revenue, hurt by lower commodity prices. Oil and gas prices came under pressure during the April-June quarter as rising interest rates in key economies and a slower-than-expected manufacturing and consumption recovery in China dented fuel demand. Energy output has yet not reached pre-pandemic levels as companies have kept a tight rein on production, also pressuring pipeline operators' transport volumes.

OPEC producer, Iraq is considering reconstructing an old pipeline through neighbouring Syria to export crude from a Mediterranean port to Europe and other countries, an Iraqi official was reported saying on 18 July. The pipeline, which was commissioned in 1952, links the central Iraqi Kirkuk oilfields with the Northwestern Syrian port of Baniyas and was operational for many years before it was badly damaged during the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.

RPS are delighted to announce that RPS has been awarded a new contract to support the Nigeria Morocco Gas Pipeline Project for their client, Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. RPS will measure offshore meteorological and oceanographic conditions for one year along the proposed pipeline route. RPS’ global MetOcean team will support the project utilising the new RPS MetOcean workshop facility in Newbury, near Reading, UK.

Cheniere Energy Inc, the largest US LNG exporter, says it may build a new pipeline to link its Louisiana expansion project to other pipelines in major shale-gas producing regions as it seeks to diversify its risk. Cheniere's Sabine Pass facility has been expanding since its production began in 2016 but needs additional natural gas beyond current supplies to reach its planned ‘Stage 5’ capacity, top company officials said.
