Librarian and social media personality Mychal Threets will appear for a conversation at Shenendehowa High School West’s auditorium on May 29. Known for his love of “library kids” (and grown-ups) and his openness about his personal mental health challenges, Threets will be answering questions, submitted prior to the event, and will be available for photographs, according to a Monday press release from the event host, the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.

Tent camping once a year on Memorial Day weekend became our annual family vacation for most of my childhood. We packed up dad’s truck, drove out to a family friend’s property near the Finger Lakes and roughed it for two nights and three days. Hiking and cooking by the fire became an essential part of our lives for those few days. Now, with kids of my own, our family still aims to have a camping trip once a year.
