The number 1215 is important to Scotland Internationalist Ken Macaulay. In February of this year, Ken was awarded his Scotland cap retrospectively at a ceremony at Scottish Gas Murrayfield which recognised his selection for a Scotland squad who played a French select team in Bordeaux in April 1980.

The match will take place on Friday 13 September at 4pm at Scotstoun Stadium with Scotland Under-20s head coach Kenny Murray coaching the academy team along with his Under-20s management team. As part of the new Performance Player Pathway plan to give the country’s best young players as much game time as possible, in the absence of Super Series, Glasgow and Edinburgh’s academy players will come together to face Ulster.

Scottish Rugby will host the age-grade tournament and welcome seven teams from across the world to Hive Stadium, home of Edinburgh Rugby. Scotland have been drawn in Pool A, where they will compete against Samoa, Hong Kong China and Japan. Pool B will see Netherlands, USA and Kenya compete for their spot in the play-offs. Murray has named a 16/12 spilt, with six players looking to make their Scotland U20 debut this summer.

Tickets are now on sale for the World Rugby U20 Trophy which will be played at HIVE stadium in Edinburgh next month. Tickets are now available for the four match days which will see eight teams from across the world battle it out for promotion to next year’s World Rugby U20 Championship.

Back in November 2019, the FOSROC Super6 got underway for the first time as Stirling County beat Boroughmuir Bears at Meggetland with referee David Sutherland in the middle. In a fitting “full circle” moment, it will also be David who takes charge of tonight’s final, which will see a Super Series trophy lifted for the last time. David’s refereeing career, though relatively short at the time, had already seen him reach near to what was the heights of the domestic game before Super Series.

The match, scheduled for a 7:35pm kick-off and due to be broadcast on BBC ALBA, is unable to be played due Glasgow Warriors having an insufficient number of front row players to play the game. The match between Boroughmuir Bears and Ayrshire Bulls, also scheduled to be played on Friday evening at 7:35pm, will now be broadcast live on BBC ALBA.

BBC ALBA will continue their support of rugby in Scotland as they broadcast Friday night games from the upcoming FOSROC Super Series Sprint, all kicking off at 7.35pm. All matches will also be available on BBC iPlayer. BBC ALBA will broadcast the opening match of the competition next Friday (19 April) between Southern Knights and Edinburgh A at the Greenyards. The focus will then turn to Millbrae on Friday 26 April, as Ayrshire Bulls take on Watsonians in front of the BBC ALBA cameras.

The coaching group of Scott Wight, Iain Chisholm and James Head will be overseen by Head of Rugby, Rob MoffatFormer Scotland 7s Captain and Scotland Club XV Head Coach, Scott Wight continues in his role as attack coach of the team. Wight is looking to build on the success of the Southern Knights attack from last year’s Championship competition, with a number of key players returning to the squad.

The Club Rugby Board (CRB) agreed last night to progress with a 12-team Premiership for season 2024/25 at their meeting determining the coming season’s structure. For the forthcoming transition season 2024/25 Watsonians FC and Melrose Rugby will move to the Premiership and Boroughmuir FC and Stirling County RFC will move to National League Division 1. Ayr RFC and Heriot’s Rugby will also play in the Premiership where they would have competed next season anyway.
