Irish Rail have warned passengers that a number of services this morning have been cancelled. Irish Rail announced on X this morning that passengers are advised that services are suspended between Howth and Howth Junction due to to an issue with “overhead lines”. "Dublin Bus are honouring all valid rail tickets. Crews are working to rectify this issue. Update to follow,” they said. More to follow...

The €18m centre on Custom House Quay will replace a vacant 1980s-era building owned by Dublin City Council, which is being demolished to make way for two new structures. The centre will be operated under a three-year pilot programme by Swan Leisure, a company owned by Dublin City Council which also runs Rathmines Swimming Pool.

The incident happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday, May 14, on Frederick Lane North, Dublin 1. A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí responded to reports of a male assaulted by two individuals on Frederick Lane North, Dublin 1 yesterday, Wednesday, May 14, at approximately 2.30pm. “Two men, aged 30s and 20s, received treatment at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries. “No arrests have been made at this time.

Protests have been ongoing at 9A Basin View since construction work began at the start of the week, with some individuals reportedly “obstructing staff from accessing the site”, which is close to three nearby schools. While most of the protest has been peaceful, Labour councillor Darragh Moriarty said “there has been some aggression and intimidation”, including reports of verbal abuse aimed at parents and children on the narrow residential street.
