A special flagship concert is set to take place at Goldenbridge Cemetery on May 11 in honour of O’Connell, known as the Liberator for his campaigning which liberated Irish Catholics from Penal Laws in the early 1800s. Curated by musician Fiach Moriarty, the event will feature reenactments of notable speeches by Daniel O’Connell and Frederick Douglass, performed by Jim Roche and Peter Smith.

The anti-social behaviour was “identified as a barrier” for local residents in the area using the facility, according to Dublin City Council’s Active Travel Office. Dublin City councillors have now unanimously supported a motion on how they are going to monitor and use the space, noting it as an area of “particular concern”.
