It’s time to officially kick off Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas! And after watching this one, I don’t think there was a better movie to start things off with. There was an immediate, natural, and easy chemistry that happened between Jessie and Bryan. It’s part of what made this one a true delight to watch. And the storyline had some of my favorite tropes in it, which meant I was completely invested right from the start.

We got the pleasure of seeing some of our favorite cruise ship crew members playing poker. Strip poker at that. And that was just where the episode began! This week was wellness week and things certainly got intense. There were a lot of differing opinions about health and wellness happening. And there was also a pretty severe storm that the cruise ship was heading right into. Plus, Avery ended up needing an emergency surgery. While the storm was raging at its hardest.

Violet and Lyla take a call that involves them working outside their scope of practice. But they did so in the name of maintaining their vows to do whatever is necessary to save lives. And then we had Stella, who was still being given grief by Dom. Even more than he already has been and I still don’t get why. We also had Sam’s girlfriend, Tori, making the decision to stay in Chicago for a while because she thinks she makes Carver better.

Hannah is still reeling after losing Elise. And it seemed like while everyone was trying to comfort her, they were just making it worse. Then Caitlin decided to do a review of the case with the other doctors. And Sharon continued to try and figure out her death threat situation. But only seemed to continue on without any real progress made. Plus, Jackie returns to the ED and she seems ready to go. Even if Maggie wasn’t quite ready to put her right back into the thick of the things.

Things got tense for Morgan when she desperately tries to help a woman find her two missing daughters. But things get convoluted real quick when the girls’ father, who was their prime suspect, turns up dead. Then the pool of suspects just keeps getting bigger and wider. At least, as far as Morgan is concerned. Because everyone else seems to turn their suspicions to the girls’ mother as orchestrating the entire thing.

What a reunion we got to see! Smallville fans were cheering while watching Erica Durance and Kristin Kreuk back on the screen together! Or maybe that was just me. And okay, they didn’t really have many scenes together in Smallville. And maybe the ones they did they didn’t really talk. Or talk at all. But it still made my fangirl heart happy anyway. Plus, it was just nice to see Erica Durance back on my screen! And in the middle of a murder, no less. And we had Cassandra and Karl closer than ever.

Gibbs continues on the hunt for the sniper they started going after in the first episode. And we continue to get a deeper look at not only a young Gibbs, but a young Mike as well. Which is definitely welcome! Especially since we lost him way back in season eight of the OG show. And definitely shouldn’t have! But Gibbs wastes no time proving himself as an investigator, even as a probie himself. And the rest of the team is going to have to stop questioning, doubting, and worrying about Gibbs.

There were so many things right with this show. And that was before I even started the first episode. From the moment I saw they had chosen Austin Stowell to play a young Gibbs, I was so in! He was the perfect choice in all of the ways. And let’s be real, I would have been in anyway. Because a show about a young Gibbs has me more than a little intrigued. So I was beyond ecstatic that the pilot episode kicked things off right! I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. Actually, I was beyond impressed.

I definitely did not want to be in the team’s shoes in this episode. Having to keep track of all those surfers on some seriously dangerous waves was so not my idea of a good time. But things went from bad to worse to dangerous so freaking quick. Things were intense from start to finish.

I am so excited to be able to have another one of these movies out! But it left me wanting another one already. So I hope they have plenty more of them planned for the future! Because I need to see more of Tom and Goldy. I feel like when they have these series, they really slow down the development of the romantic relationships of the characters. Anyway, this one got crazy at a musical event that Goldy was catering. And that was doubling as a first date for her and Tom. Freaking finally.
