TROY, Ala. (TROJANVISION) — Pike County is now home to a state-of-the-art 911 dispatch center that has been years in the making. “The thought was to consolidate and put together one 911 and dispatch center underneath the 911 district,” said Robert Wright, Executive Director for the Pike County Communications District. The facility opened in July. Built with expansion in mind, it not only provides more space, but new and improved equipment and facilities.

New funding that may help ease that concern for military families in need is moving through the Senate now. $3 million has been set aside for a new child development center at Naval Air Station Whiting Field. ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- While many stood back and watched in the moments after Thursday's fiery fatal crash on the Escambia Bay Bridge, at least two witnesses jumped into action. They spoke with WEAR News on Friday. One person died and three others suffered minor injuries. Florida Highway Patrol has not yet identified the fatal victim or said what caused the crash. “This is probably the craziest thing I've ever seen in my entire life," Christian Shotts said.
