Highlander Band Announces 2025-26 Drum Majors

The Highlander Band has announced new leaders for the 2025-26 school year. The band’s drum majors will be seniors Mitch Dauphinais, Kaden Rice (head drum major), and Ian Hyde. The Highlander Band supports Highland Park athletes at football games and pep rallies. Band members have a chance to shine themselves at marching contests, solo and ensemble competitions, and concerts, as well as through membership in the color guard, drumline, and honor and jazz bands.
HP Robotics Team Gets Inside Look at SpaceX

The Highland Park High School robotics team got a behind-the-scenes look at SpaceX’s Starship base near Brownsville, Texas, this spring. An engineer told the students how SpaceX’s unique rockets are made, and shared information about the facility’s operation and maintenance. The students learned how the company plans to revolutionize space travel, and left with more knowledge of the new technologies made possible by SpaceX.

Highland Park ISD celebrated the accolades, awards, and scholarships earned by the Class of 2025 during the annual Honors Assembly on May 22. Students were recognized for a wide range of achievements, from excellence in Latin and science, to outstanding commitments to community service and the stewardship of land and wildlife resources. Generous donors to the Highland Park Education Foundation have funded more than $250,000 in scholarships for the graduates.

Highland Park High School student Charlton Bradford hopes his basketball camp from May 26 to 29 will be a slam dunk with young players. “It’s a great, energetic, fun environment to be around,” Charlton said. “And it gets even more fun if you bring friends.”This will be Charlton’s fourth year hosting the camp that he started with his older brother, Harrison. Harrison is now a student at Texas A&M University, and Charlton is running the camp by himself for the second time.
