IKEA Dallas –  University Park will be a small-format, two-story store, the company announced on its website. But small is a relative term — for IKEA, that means a 63,000 square-foot space that offers 3,200 articles and food.

    Traffic around the Ashley Priddy Memorial Fountain near the intersection of Armstrong Avenue, Oak Lawn Avenue, Lakeside Drive, and Preston Road will be impacted by storm water main repair work beginning on Thursday, April 10. The town of Highland Park will temporarily close and shift lanes to facilitate the construction, which is expected to continue through the end of June, weather permitting. Performances of Grease: School Version are at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 4 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, in the MIS/HPMS auditorium, 3555 Granada Ave.

    While the kids get a summer holiday from school, the city of University Park plans to get to work maintaining and improving city streets. The University Park City Council approved contracts for asphalt replacement during an April 1 meeting. The summertime work will occur on slightly more than 12 miles of city streets.
