Here in Colorado, the state Department of Public Health and Environment has reported no Lyme disease originating in Colorado, but as people and pets travel in from elsewhere, they may need treatment here.

The Denver Rolling Nuggets, Colorado's National Wheelchair Basketball Association team, are training the next wave of athletes. Having lost sponsorship and participation after the pandemic, the team is rebuilding while also bringing the community together. "We play basketball hard. I mean ... you could put us up against probably an NBA team, and in our chairs, we've got a chance," said board member and Rolling Nuggets player Dan Hendrix.

April is Donate Life Month, and while Colorado has one of the highest rates of organ donors in the country, with 62% of people registered, nearly 2,000 Coloradans are still on the waiting list for a transplant. Across the country, more than 100,000 people are waiting for a transplant. Julia Renz is a junior at the University of Colorado who is spreading awareness about organ donation.

The University of Colorado Boulder kicked off its 77th annual Conference on World Affairs this week. The three-day event is expected to draw thousands of people on and off campus. On Monday night, that included Gov. Jared Polis and keynote speaker Cynthia Erivo, which drew lines around the block. Some in line said they had waited for up to 5 hours for Erivo's speech. "She's coming here, and she's speaking to us, for students like us," sophomore Maddi Spicer said.
