The Victorian casino regulator has given Crown Resorts the all clear to keep is casino licence in Melbourne after a two year review. Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commissioner Fran Thorn said Crown had previously demonstrated it had broken governance, an absence of regulatory standards and a culture that prioritised profit above all else.

The thought of Donald Trump and Joe Biden going head to head again is kind of comical. Imagine John Howard and Paul Keating returning to battle — they’re all of similar vintage.

Anthony Albanese and his merry men and women will be counting down the sleeps until Christmas like kids waiting for the big guy in the red suit to deliver presents. There’s nothing better than a little festive season interlude to take the focus off a Government that is starting to come under pressure. Most people are already switched off for the year and don’t care about politics and that’s good for Albo and his team who will take the opportunity for a re-set.

Imagine a State that has an abundance of gas reserves to draw from hitting a deficit in supply that then forces energy prices to rise. That’s a possibility in the booming resources State of Western Australia according to the independent Australian Energy Market Operator’s latest review of the local market. The forecast has worsened since last year and AEMO now warns 27 per cent of demand could be unmet in a decade if extra supply is not brought online.
