Every year at this time, I get emails and notes from people telling me they’re giving up on ‘trying dry January.’ I’m not surprised, after a month or more of complete decadence and gluttony over the holidays, your body and mind are shocked to the core when you go on a diet, lace up your winter runners AND give up alcohol. Primary and secondary clinical outcome measures are administered to youth and caregivers weekly and/or at 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 18 months, with the exception of diagnostic measures which are only administered at pre- and post-treatment (see Table 1). Ingredients 2 strawberries 2 oz Wilfred’s or non-alcohol aperitif 3/4 oz lemon juice 3 oz non alcoholic rose wine Directions Gently muddle the strawberries in a mixing glass or something other than the cocktail glass. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir gently to combine. Strain into a tumbler filled with ice. Add sliced strawberries for garnish.

If you’ve just finished Dry January, a big congratulations is in order. If you didn’t quite make it 30-days dry, don’t beat yourself up. It’s not an easy task to disconnect both your conscious and unconscious mind from the idea of drinking. It was about three years ago, in February 2020 when my dread first set-in. I had tried and miserably failed at Dry January.
