HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Crews are still working to repair the extensive damage that an EF-2 tornado caused at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville back in May. Over 200 gravestones were damaged by the tornado. Officials have fixed six historical monuments, but several still need to be repaired. Cemetery Director Tara Sloan said she hopes to have most of the damage fixed by October for their annual Cemetery Stroll.

In 2023, Alabama became a permitless state after the Permit-less Carry Law went into effect, which means Alabamians don't need a permit to carry a firearm.
