Their resume and work history was spectacular, the storytelling aspect of their portfolio pieces were strong, and most importantly, their design was unique. I’m sure you’ve already heard of many Youtubers and TikTokers claiming they’ve made a fortune by dropshipping products from other suppliers. What was really interesting is that almost all of the influencers talked about platforms like Shopify, AutoDS, CJ, Viral Ecom Adz, and AliExpress, as if they were scripted together. I was very skeptical of this business model because surely, people must be aware of telltale signs that an online store is a dropshipping store.

Growing up in Delhi in the ‘90s, my hometown Seoul in Korea felt a world away. The Korean community was miniscule, Korean restaurants were rare, and finding authentic Korean products and ingredients meant an expedition. Back then, if you craved a taste of Korea, you had to get creative.
