The Upper East Side welcomed Lenox Hill Cannabis Co. on January 8, catering to the growing demand for legal cannabis products in the area. Located at 334 East 73rd Street between First and Second avenues, the space was previously home to Cigar Inn for over twenty years. Lenox Hill Cannabis is the second legal cannabis shop to open in the neighborhood, following The Herbal Care‘s arrival on January 4.

Maurice and Sonia Mosseri, founders of the denim brand Still Here, have opened their second NYC store on Madison Avenue—securing the lease within two hours of the space hitting the market in October. Located at 905 Madison Ave at the corner of 73rd street, the 1,200 square foot ground floor shop was home to Bra Smyth since 1988.

The Chapman Group, a Manhattan real estate development company, recently shared updated plans for a 46-story, 524-foot residential building replacing two parking garages, an auto repair shop, and an empty 5-story building at 231 East 94th Street. New York YIMBY first reported on these plans. The new mixed-unit residential building will come with 452 apartments, 113 of which will be dedicated to affordable housing.

A new Greek restaurant, Mykonian House, has opened its doors at 25 East 83rd Street between Fifth and Madison avenues. Mykonian House has taken over the corner formerly occupied by Italian restaurant Giovanni. The new restaurant’s menu (view here) offers Greek classics like handmade phyllo spanakopita, lamb chops, avgolemono and grilled octopus.

Abstract Interdisciplinary teams are on the rise as scientists attempt to address complex environmental issues. While the benefits of team science approaches are clear, researchers often struggle with its implementation, particularly for new team members. The challenges of large projects often weigh on the most vulnerable members of a team: trainees, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral researchers.
