    Around 50,000 years ago, our species began migrating from Africa into Europe and Asia. We were not alone. As we journeyed, we came into contact with other large-brained hominids, including our closest extinct relatives, the Neanderthals and Denisovans. For most of our history, we were part of a wider family of animals that looked and behaved like us. But by the end of the Pleistocene, around 11,700 years ago, only Homo sapiens remained. At that moment, humans became a unique species.

There are 28 in all. 5 are Long Term Thinking cases and 23 are Creative Strategy cases from the last 3 years.  It was the hardest ever year to be shortlisted as we had a whopping 150 entries. If your paper was not shortlisted; no shame! We didn’t read a bad case.

The annual South London Learner and Teacher Awards are presented on behalf of the Committee of South London Principals (COSLP). The event is in its 21st year, kindly hosted by Lord Tope. 38 winners from ten colleges across nine South London boroughs were presented with awards.
