New research from food surplus app Too Good To Go has found that 899,640 Easter eggs go to waste every year in Ireland, representing €9 million in losses. The global social impact company and world’s largest market place for surplus food is urging consumers to rethink their habits, as it further revealed that one in four adults (25%) admitted that they do not finish the chocolate they receive.

Marks & Spencer Blanchardstown has today completed a significant investment project to refresh its store, offering customers an enhanced shopping experience. The improvements, undertaken in recent months, introduce a range of new features across the Foodhall, as well as the Clothing and Home department. Changes to the Foodhall include a dedicated Bento Sushi counter and a new, expanded freezer section, in addition to a full new fit-out of cold chain fridges to ensure a high quality of food.

Lidl Ireland opened its latest store in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal this morning, bringing its county store count to nine and creating 30 permanent jobs for the area. Local Ladies’ Gaelic Football star and Donegal captain Róisín Rodgers and local club Carndonagh LGFA captain Amy Porter cut the ribbon to mark the official opening and welcome new shoppers into the store.

Fyffes Ireland has won a Gold Star Award at the annual APMC Awards for promoting health and wellness in its ‘Ireland’s Fittest School’ initiative. This was the latest recognition for the ongoing work by the company to promote the importance of exercise, fitness and healthy eating among young people. The Irish fruit imported was honoured with the award at the APMC Awards gala held in Dublin recently for the schools programme.
