In a necessary step to tackle the ongoing trash problem, the Municipality of Aley has introduced a $100 fine for anyone caught littering on the streets. Mayor Wajdi Murad told MTV: “We honestly don’t know what more we can do” about people who keep dumping their garbage everywhere. Despite repeated warnings and cleanup efforts, the issue persisted, so the municipality decided it was time for stricter action. Cameras have now been installed around the area to monitor violations.
