Future pandemics will occur, and the growth and increasing mobility of populations will likely shorten the time until the next one.1,2 As with many countries, the United Kingdom (UK) has a strategic approach for responding to pandemics.1 The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic provided knowledge that will help us to prepare for and respond to future pandemics.
