The Zamfara Elders Support for Peace and Development (ZESPD) has condemned the State Governor, Dauda Lawal over his recent allegations against his predecessor, the Minister of State for Defense, Mohammed Bello Matawalle. The group, while reacting to the Governor’s statement on his predecessor while featuring on a Television programme few days ago, described Lawal’s claims as baseless, diversionary, and evidence of his inability to address the state’s pressing challenges.

The 255 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Kaduna are being upgraded to Level-Two health institutions in the state for basic emergency obstetrics and neonatal care, in order to prevent maternity and neonatal mortality and morbidity. This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Health, Umma Ahmad, who also explained that 13 secondary health care facilities out of the 33 general hospitals are also being rehabilitated and equipped.
