Bears News • LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Shemar Turner’s an excitable sort. That has been clear since the Bears selected him at No. 62 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former Texas A&M defensive lineman talked about playing with “violence” and said some unflattering things about offensive linemen. That’s not all for show, though. Go watch the tape, or the highlights at least. Turner is aggressive in every snap, a disruptor who walks the line and occasionally steps right over it.

Bears News • LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Luther Burden III and Jameson Williams go way back. The star receivers played together at Cardinal Ritter Prep in St. Louis back in 2018, when Williams was a senior and Burden was a freshman. They have remained close even after parting ways, remaining in contact over the years. Williams went to Alabama and then the Detroit Lions as a 2022 first-round NFL Draft pick. Burden starred at Missouri and was recently the first of three Bears second-round selections.

Bears News • The Bears have formally signed first-round NFL draft pick Colston Loveland to a four-year contract with a fifth-year option. The team announced the deal on Thursday, on the eve of their rookie minicamp. They also inked four-year deals with fourth-round linebacker Ruben Hyppolite, fifth-round defensive back Zah Frazier, sixth-round offensive lineman Luke Newman and seven-round running back Kyle Monangai. Those contracts do not contain fifth-year options.

Bears News • The offseason program is officially on. We wouldn’t characterize that as a major NFL tentpole event, but it’s a sign that the player acquisition portion of the calendar has officially closed. The Bears have upgraded their roster through trades, free agency and the NFL draft, to the point that they should be considered contenders if they play to potential. That’s a big if, however, and is completely dependent on the play of an immensely talented quarterback.

Bears News • Ben Johnson has been adamant that there is no Bears depth chart. The new Bears head coach has said that time and again, whenever asked about roster evaluation. It started shortly after his hiring and has continued on through the NFL draft. “There is no depth chart right now,” Johnson said after the draft. “If you want to play, you’ve got to go earn it. If you want a role, you’ve got to go earn it. They know that.”Johnson wants to heighten the level of competition this spring and summer.

Grady Jarrett was at Wrigley Field on to throw out the first pitch. He got mobbed by fans wanted to know their new defensive tackle. Jarrett wants to get to know them, too, and 'immerse myself' in Chicago sports culture. We talked about that and more: https://t.co/TjzWPDpBxl
