Following the implementation of the ISA, the corresponding
Immigration Services Regulations (the
"Regulations") have since come into force. The
Regulations set out guidelines for the enforcement of various items
under the ISA, including provisions on the regulation of foreign
worker recruiters and immigration consultants, additional
information on penalties for non-compliance, and requirements
– as well as exemptions – for registered employers.

The announcement included Ottawa's intent to further reduce
international study permits for 2025 by an additional 10% from the
2024 target. Changes to eligibility for post-graduate work permits
were also announced. Additionally, the federal government plans to
limit work permit eligibility to spouses of Master's students
whose program is 16 months or more in duration. You can read our

population growth in the short term. This includes controlled
targets for temporary residents – specifically international

("AAIP") is a provincial economic immigration program
that nominates individuals for permanent residence in Alberta. To
be eligible for the AAIP, prospective nominees must have skills
that will fill job shortages in Alberta or plan to start a business
in the province.
The AAIP is administered by Alberta's provincial government
under a specific agreement with the federal government. Currently,
the AAIP operates under a monthly application system.
