For the second WWE PLE in a row, John Cena’s quest to “ruinwrestling” sunk a show that would have been more highly regarded if you couldfly in a typical Cody Rhodes world title defense. Backlash wasn’t a bad show by most metrics, but the finalact of the five-match event was embarrassingly bad – and long – thus negatingany goodwill that had built up in the hours prior.

The world of post-WrestleMania 41 WWE Raw is certainly astrange one. Following a lackluster signature event, the company has turned inefforts that have ranged from pretty good to excellent. Monday’s program trended toward the middle of that spectrum,with Raw continuing to lay the groundwork for future weeks and months ahead,not just the upcoming Backlash PLE or Saturday Night’s Main Event at the end ofMay.

A day removed from yet another WWE Black Friday with the company releasing more than a dozen wrestlers, news emerged Saturday that another superstar was among those cut, while it was revealed that another wrestler's contract will not be renewed. Friday, WWE released 15 main-roster and NXT superstars, gutting their women's tag team divisions at both levels in the process.

As a history major whose father was a HS history teacher, just FFS. V-E Day (as May 8 has been known for DECADES) marks the end to only one theater of WWII. The second (and real end), V-J Day, came in August. And Japan was the reason we got into WWII in the first place.
