For the second WWE PLE in a row, John Cena’s quest to “ruinwrestling” sunk a show that would have been more highly regarded if you couldfly in a typical Cody Rhodes world title defense. Backlash wasn’t a bad show by most metrics, but the finalact of the five-match event was embarrassingly bad – and long – thus negatingany goodwill that had built up in the hours prior.

The world of post-WrestleMania 41 WWE Raw is certainly astrange one. Following a lackluster signature event, the company has turned inefforts that have ranged from pretty good to excellent. As a history major whose father was a HS history teacher, just FFS. V-E Day (as May 8 has been known for DECADES) marks the end to only one theater of WWII. The second (and real end), V-J Day, came in August. And Japan was the reason we got into WWII in the first place.

That’s the flag raising on Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima. It happened in February 1945. It has nothing to do with victory in Europe. https://t.co/sYTN18mLLk
