NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Trash, it's an often under-the-radar function of government. The landfill where Nashville sends its trash is almost full. That got me thinking: What will happen to Music City's trash after that? The official name of the dump that's been taking Nashville's trash for decades is the Middle Point Landfill. It's located in the Walter Hill community in Rutherford County. The locals call it "Mt. Trashmore" because of the size of the mound of garbage covered up with dirt.
