Great Harwood Rovers have played a key role in encouraging sports participation and fitness in their community since 1975. Thanks to generous funding by Fort Vale, they have launched a new ‘Men v Fat' programme for men's weight loss, which is free to participate in and starts on 29th January. Men V Fat is a 12-week program designed for men who want to participate in football—either by playing or volunteering—but feel they aren't fit enough.

The festivities continued in Great Harwood last Saturday with over 1,000 people enjoying a free snow globe and free ice rink, as well as hundreds more enjoying the market and live performances, as the town prepares to host its grand finale of Christmas events this weekend.

Hyndburn-based music event production company, iMEP, have continued their investment in the borough after taking over the lease of their second new facility in Accrington town centre. Exciting plans are underway for the town centre building including a boardroom, demonstration room, showroom, a director's balcony and an academy to train future talent in the music event production industry.

Great Harwood Rovers have been part of the local community, providing grassroots football participation, since 1975. As part of their 50th anniversary year, they have been invited to take part in a procession down Queen Street in Great Harwood as part of the Christmas Extravaganza event on 14th December. All current and former players are invited, in kit if possible, to meet on Towngate in the township at 12.30pm on the 14th.
