After just one week out of the top spot, Amity is once again the No. 1 team in the GametimeCT Top 10 Baseball Poll. The Spartans beat former No. 1 Hand 4-2 behind a big day from James Pellegrino who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run and pitched two clean innings of relief. Hand lost twice last week, also losing to Notre Dame-West Haven, but only fell two spots to No. 3. Norwalk dismantled Staples 14-1 to move to 8-0 on the season.

The Amity baseball team was the No. 1 team in the GametimeCT Baseball Top 10 Poll last week before losing and falling to No. 2 with Hand moving up to No. 1. That set up Friday's showdown between No. 1 Hand and No. 2 Amity in Madison. With three runs in the top of the fifth, highlighted by a two-run single by James Pellegrino, Amity beat Hand 4-2. Pellegrino's single scored Dylan Agvent and Derek Porto, both of whom had singled earlier in the inning.
