A Bergen County father drowned on May 25 after trying to save two people whose kayak had flipped at a small lake in the Poconos, according to police and local media reports. Police were dispatched around 12:30 p.m. to Sir Bradford Road in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, to reports of a drowning on a small lake behind some houses, said Sgt. Nick Mecca of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police. Pennsylvania news organizations identified the man as Bibin Michael, 40, of Norwood.
