PTx Trimble has pulled the wraps off its latest guidance controller, the NAV-960, choosing to debut it at a major farm show in Brazil, where the improved capabilities it offers can really help solve some of the bigger challenges farmers there face. Agco has been working to update its Massey Ferguson-branded line of tractors over the past few years. Introduction of the newest updated 9S models completes the move from the various model number designations tractors have held into the more simply designated S Series lines. At Germany’s Agritechnica machinery show in 2023, the brand pulled the wraps off the high-horsepower 9S Series. This spring, those new tractors will finally be arriving on dealer lots in Canada.

Reinke Manufacturing, an irrigation systems company, introduced its first cloud computing software, ReinCloud, in 2016. In late March the company unveiled the latest update to that system, ReinCloud 3. It’s compatible with both iOS and Android systems. It’s more intuitive than previous versions and allows operators to integrate more data-driven information into their water management practices. “It’s way more advanced than what was previously out there,” says Reinke president Chris Roth.

Ag equipment manufacturers had hoped to see sales volumes start to recover this year from the current slump, but those high expectations have been lowered by the negative yo-yo impact of U.S. tariff rates — and those tariffs will end up costing farmers in North America more for new machinery and parts, even here in Canada.
