The Western Hockey League announced today that Teydon Trembecky has been named Tempo WHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 2nd. Trembecky appeared in two games as the Royals earned four points against the Portland Winterhawks this weekend. The winger, who hails from Sherwood Park, Alberta posted four goals and one assist for five points in the two games, including a hat trick on Friday night as well as scoring Saturday’s game winning goal.

It’s a reunion of sorts on Vancouver Island. Pacific FC announced Friday that the club has signed Marco Bustos, bringing the ex-CPL superstar back to Langford after two years abroad with Swedish side IFK Värnamo. 17-year-old Cowichan Valley athlete Alexa Dow is now a Canadian National Champion. She competed in the Canadian Cross Country Championships in London, Ontario, on November 30th, winning the U18 girls’ race by 14 seconds—the largest margin of the day. Her 6km time of 21:44 earned her the gold medal and led the Team BC girls to the National Team title. Alexa finished second last year at the Cross Country Nationals in Ottawa and was determined to win her first national title this year.

Kingston, ON — New double-handed, 470 sailing team, James Fair and Emilie Tschanz, have officially launched their campaign for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The mixed 470 class was a new addition to the Olympics Games in Paris 2024 – but no Canadian team qualified. Fair and Tschanz are gearing up to be the first team in Canadian history to compete in the mixed 470 class. The duo brings years of sailing experience, determination, and a shared dream to represent Canada on the world stage.
