Tuesday night was a good one for the Ridgeland track teams as the Panthers won a five-team meet at Chattooga and the Lady Panthers piled up points, despite a fourth-place finish. Ridgeland's boys won six events with David Walker leading the way. The senior won both the shot put (48-6) and the discus (117.9-5) to account for 20 points. Lyric Flynn was the winner in the 3200 (12:13). T.J. Foster dominated in the high jump (6-4) and the Panthers won both the 4x100 (45.42) and the 4x200 (1:35.77).

A power outage in Ellijay on Tuesday forced the postponement of Game 1 between Ridgeland and Gilmer. The three-game, Region 7-AAA series will now start Thursday night in Rossville, while the Panthers will trek to Ellijay on Friday for a doubleheader.
