James Hagens began his freshman season at Boston College as the presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. With said draft now just a month away, the center is not expected to go in the top two. Falling all the way to the Bruins at seven remains unlikely, but would not be completely shocking given how volatile picks three through eight or nine remain in the eyes of a lot of scouts and analysts.

The Boston Bruins made their first big move of the offseason this week when they signed general manager Don Sweeney to a two-year extension through the 2027-28 season. Barring a surprise, their next big move will be the hiring of their new head coach. That could come in the next couple weeks. The 6-foot-2, 187-pound netminder also had a .927 save percentage in three playoff games.

The Florida Panthers are back in the Eastern Conference Finals for a third straight year after a dominant 6-1 win in Game 7 Sunday night. The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing the hardest questions yet about their "Core Four" after falling on their face in a big spot once again. Both developments could affect the Boston Bruins. The biggest and most obvious fallout from a Bruins perspective is this: They are now just about locked into getting a first-round pick out of the Brad Marchand trade.

Selfishly, I miss Taylor Hall being on the Bruins. If you asked even half-decent questions, you generally got good, thoughtful answers.

Absolutely loved this from Taylor Hall on @Canes coach Rod Brind'Amour today. "[He's] a big reason why I wanted to sign an extension here before the playoffs: I wanted to be coached by him for a longer period of time then just this season." https://t.co/xv78HAuX94
