What rookie 358 sprint car driver Brayden Mickley lacks in experience he certainly makes up for with persistence. The 23-year-old Biglerville resident has ascended quickly. After testing the waters in 270 micro competition, Mickley advanced into a 600 micro a year ago. When High Limit series co-owners Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson purchased the All Star Circuit of Champions from Tony Stewart in 2023, the future of the series was up in the air. For someone without a ton of 410 sprint car experience, J.J. Loss continues to make strides. Racing since the age of six, Loss first got behind the wheel of his family-owned sprinter two years ago, with most of his appearances limited to Lincoln and BAPS Motor Speedway. If you’re going to celebrate a victory, you might as well celebrate an anniversary, too. Coming nearly a year from the date of his last win in the Pigeon Hills, Danny Dietrich made his way back to Victory Lane Sunday afternoon by taking the 410 sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway. “It was pretty grueling, and just a matter of being patient,” said Dietrich after the 30-lap A-man. The win, Dietrich’s first of the young season, was also a bit of redemption for the Gettysburg driver.

Dietz gets by Dietrich to capture Lincoln's Icebreaker 30

In Lincoln Speedway’s 72-year history, the winner of the season’s first race has gone on to be crowned the track champion 22 times, including each of the last three seasons. Although a run at the track points title is unlikely this season, local fan favorite Chase Dietz will certainly enjoy that good omen. Making his debut in the Stehman Motorsports sprinter, Dietz raced by Gettysburg’s Danny Dietrich with eight laps to go to win Sunday’s Icebreaker 30 at Lincoln Speedway.
