Memes filled social media last night after Harry Maguire surprisingly turned his opponent inside out before delivering a perfect ball to set up Manchester United’s first goal in a 3-0 win over Club Athletic. After the game, Maguire was told on TNT he was being referred to as “Harrydinho” on Twitter, much to the defender’s amusement. It’s brilliant … I’m sure there are a few nicknames out there for me. It was nice to do a bit of dribbling out there and obviously put in a great cross.

Manchester United beat Club Athletic 3-0 away from home in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final. Casemiro put us ahead with half an hour played, after Manuel Ugarte headed on a Harry Maguire cross. However, it wasn’t just any cross from Maguire, with the defender twisting and turning before delivering an inch perfect ball. Speaking to TNT after the game, Fernandes sung the praises of Maguire, hailing the the improvement in his game.

Harry Maguire was the hero on Thursday night as he helped turn around a 4-2 defeat in to a 5-4 victory in the final minutes of extra time against Lyon in the Europa League. The game had been billed as our biggest of the season, with us needing to win this competition to play in the Champions League next year. Speaking to The National after the game, Maguire claimed the rollercoaster of emotions and events summed up his time at United so far. I’ve had some amazing moments at this club.
