A dozen Iowa STate football players and a world famous wrestler turned out to help out a Central Iowa girl with Cycstic Fibrosis These Cyclones from the We Will Collective came to Nevada High SChool Friday night for Charilie's Angels in the Outfield. It was a charuity softball game against the Nevada Cubs Hometown heroes, a collection of community leaders and former Nevada Cubs stars. 2x time NCAA CHampion wrestler David Carr was on hand as the coach for the ISU team.

It's a rough time to be a walk-on. College football rosters are in total limbo as the industry awaits a ruling in a landmark settlement. The House vs. NCAA settlement, which has not been approved yet, will pave the way for players to be paid directly by the schools. It includes a stipulation that college football rosters must be no larger than 105 players, down from the approximately 120 players teams have rostered in the past.

Iowa high school football coaching legend Dick Tighe passes away at age 94

Iowa high school football coaching legend Dick Tighe has died at the age of 94. Eric Pratt of the Fort Dodge Messenger posted the news on X Tuesday afternoon.Tighe spent 31 years coaching Webster City, eventually ending his career as head coach at St. Edmond in Fort Dodge. He also coached at Kuemper Catholic and Iowa Falls-Alden.He retired following the 2016 season with a career record of 432-167-8 over 63 seasons. At the time, it was an all-time record for coaching wins in the state.
Seven more records fall at the Drake Relays

Another night of racing saw more records fall at the Drake Relays. Seven Drake Relays records were set, capped by the WACT women's steeplechase. Sophie Novak, a former Notre Dame standout who came in ranked third in the world, won in 9:28.48 to break the meet record. Five records were set in the high school division with Quentin Nauman from Western Dubuque tying the record in the boys 800 and Clear Lake's Reese Brownlee equaling the meet record in the girls 400.
