They got away with about 2,000 dollars worth of various office items and membership checks. According to KEYT, the museum is planning an online fundraiser and also plans to install security cameras in the near future.

    The Paso Robles Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint Friday night. According to a press release, The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road. The checkpoint will be at an undisclosed location between 6 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday. Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

    San Luis Obispo County’s efforts to reduce homelessness will be getting a financial boost. Congressman Salud Carbajal’s office says SLO County will be receiving more than 107,000 dollars in Department of Housing and Urban Development Emergency Solutions Grant funds. County officials say the funding will help provide critical crisis aid to individuals grappling with homelessness in San Luis Obispo County.

    Grover Beach has become the latest Central Coast community to hike water rates. At last night’s meeting, the City Council voted 3 to 2 in favor of the 15-dollar-a-month rate hike. City officials say the rate hike will help with the Central Coast Blue Project. A project that includes a water treatment facility meant to protect the groundwater basin from seawater intrusion, while developing a sustainable water supply.
