Known for his experimental blending of genres and armed with an arsenal of homemade electronic gadgets — which have included video game controllers, joysticks and modified MIDIs — DeLong’s music pays a nod to modern soundscapes.

    On a sweltering Sunday evening, Jane’s Addiction and Love and Rockets made their way to the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, touring as co-headliners. By 6:30 p.m., the venue had transformed into a nonstop flow of concertgoers sharing Jane’s Addiction stories while wearing an impressive arsenal of vintage rock T-shirts that could easily fetch $500 a piece on eBay. The development of the band’s original guitarist, Dave Navarro, rejoining the band seemed to be on everybody’s mind.

These bands helped guide kids to be young and cool in the fast-changing America of the 1990s while defining their respective city’s underground before hitting the mainstream. Although all the bands went through breakups, their fans refused to let their music fade into obscurity.

    Dallas' best dancers, musicians and composers will come together on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, at the Moody Performance Hall when Synergy 2024 marries modern dance and art. This collaborative effort, presented by the Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, will include artists Thang Dao, Christopher “Chill” Hill, Delcan James, Daniel Palladino, Michelle Thompson and French-born and five-time Grammy Award-winning musician Scott Tixier.
