The Supreme Court on Thursday backed a multibillion-dollar oil railroad expansion in Utah, endorsing a limited interpretation of a key environmental law. The 8-0 decision comes after an appeal to the high court from a decision by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals voiding the project’s 3,600-page Environmental Impact Statement and the Surface Transportation Board’s approval of the proposed 88-mile railway from Duchesne, Utah to near Price, Utah.
