NO fewer than 11 Antrim underage players feature in the fourth McKeever Sports Queen’s University Future Stars camogie team that collected their awards on Tuesday night at a gala dinner in the Whitla Hall in Queen’s. There are three awards each for St Killian’s, Garron Tower and St Dominic’s, Belfast, who won the Dr Cunningham Cup on their way to a first All-Ireland title for a Belfast school.

DANNY Doyle from St Colman’s, Newry collected two McKeever Sports Queen’s University Future Stars at their annual dinner in the Whitla Hall on Tuesday evening. The awards for those completing their GCSE final year were introduced for football 10 years ago and hurling was added in 2019. This is the first time that a player has appeared on both teams.

NO fewer than 14 schools are represented in the ninth McKeever Sports Queen’s University Future Stars football team announced at a gala dinner in the Whitla Hall on Tuesday evening. The only school with two players included is St Patrick’s, Dungannon, with defender Aodhán Quinn and forward Joel Kerr getting the nod from the Queen’s GAA selectors. Also included in the team are two players who featured on MacRory Cup final day this year in Celtic Park in Derry.

Very Camogie League Division 2A final Offaly 4-13 Derry 0-10DERRY can have no real complaints about the outcome of the Very National League Division 2A final in FBD Semple Stadium yesterday afternoon. Offaly were the sharper team and could have been much further ahead than 2-7 to 0-4 at the break. Laura Coyle pulled off two magnificent saves, while another Offaly shot came off the crossbar to safety.
