SASKATOON — Sustainable aviation fuel is finally taking off, say analysts. “A lot of global consumption is going to be underpinned by the mandates in Europe and the United Kingdom,” said Fabricio Cardoso, principal at Argus Consulting. SASKATOON — North West Terminal Ltd. is being tight-lipped about what is happening with the idled grain company. The firm held its annual general meeting on June 18, but chief executive officer Jason Skinner refused to divulge what was discussed at the AGM. “We’ll just go no comment because we’re in negotiations on some things,” he said. NWT announced in September 2024 that it was idling the company’s grain elevator located near Unity, Sask.

SASKATOON — Global wheat trade contracted by 10 per cent in 2024-25, but there is one region of the world where it continued to climb. Imports declined for China, Turkey, Pakistan and Kazakhstan, but expanded by seven per cent in Sub-Saharan Africa, said a new report by the United States Department of Agriculture.
