    Ford issued a recall covering just three Explorer SUVs from model year 2025 because their front brake calipers may be loose. The company told federal safety officials in a filing, “Under worst-case conditions, the brake caliper may lose contact with the brake rotor and potentially lose brake pressure in the front brake circuit.”The rear brakes have enough power to stop the car without the front brakes.

    Ford issued a recall for 404 Escape SUVs from model years 2023-2025 and Bronco Sport SUVs from model year 2025 because an engine oil leak could trigger a vehicle fire. The company told federal safety regulators an error in heat treatment left some 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engines with cylinder heads more brittle than specified. That can cause the heads to crack, losing their ball plugs. Oil could then splash out on hot engine parts, potentially causing a fire.

Dealers will fix the issue with a software update.
