MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) - One person is dead after a rollover crash on Highway 51 near Timber Ridge Road in Minocqua. The Minocqua Police Department responded to the scene at 10:56 a.m. on Thursday. Police say the driver was traveling northbound on Hwy 51, went into the east ditch, hit a culvert and flipped. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity will be released once their family is notified.

VILLAGE OF MARATHON, Wis. (WSAW) - An 18-year-old from Texas was arrested in the Village of Marathon on Tuesday night for breaking into homes and threatening the people inside. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office says Benjamin Sanchez of Cypress, TX, is facing charges for breaking into two homes, threatening the people inside, and resisting arrest. Sanchez made his initial appearance in court on Wednesday. He is out of jail on a $2,500 cash bond. A pre-trial conference is scheduled in July.

RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAW) - Marathon County Crime Stoppers is looking for information on a man accused of cashing fraudulent checks. Authorities say he’s targeted the same bank and used the same alias. The biggest issue facing the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is the man involved, who goes by the name “Jeffery Lee Dodson,” is stealing the checks from the mail. He’s then taking the checks and “washing,” or altering them, to cash at the bank.

SHAWANO, Wis. (WSAW) - The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking information regarding the location of a man missing since October. Jason Bell, 48, was reported missing in October of 2024. Bell was last seen at his home east of Leopolis on October 8. Bell had been employed as a truck driver in the logging industry prior to his disappearance. Investigators are not aware of any vehicle Bell may have been driving. His phone last pinged on October 10.
