    MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) - The man who was convicted of killing UW-Madison student Brittany Zimmermann in 2008 has died in prison. According to Wisconsin DOJ records, David Kahl died in the Dodge Correctional Institution on Tuesday. The cause of death is unknown. Kahl, 59, was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide following a plea deal with prosecutors in 2022. He was sentenced to life in prison. Investigators said Zimmermann was stabbed and strangled.

    RUDOLPH, Wis. (WSAW) - Three people critically injured are among four who were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Hwy C and County Hwy S in the Town of Rudolph Monday afternoon. The Wood County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at 3:59 p.m. The department says a pickup truck driving north on CTH S toward CTH C failed to yield and hit an SUV driving west on CTH C toward CTH S. Authorities discovered both vehicles in the northwest ditch with the SUV on its side.
