1. IntroductionSex-based differences regarding disease arise from genetic differences between men and women [1], as well as the potential for bias causing differences in patients care and ultimately their outcomes. In particular, in cardiovascular disease, sex differences in symptoms and underlying pathophysiology have been increasingly recognized [2,3], and have been used to improve health care.
