1 IntroductionCladribine (2-chlorodeoxyadenosine) is a synthetic deoxyadenosine analogue originally developed as chemotherapeutic molecule for the treatment of haematological malignancies (1), that has shown efficacy in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients (2, 3). Cladribine is a prodrug that gets into the cells via purine nucleoside transporters.
