Keiko Matsushita: The challenge and the rewarding thing about doing a film is that it is all one continuous story. In the TV series, there is always next week. If we can’t fit something in the episode, we can put a hold on it and place it later. In the film, we have to say everything we want to say in the 85 minutes we have.

As I gear up for this year’s Lightbox Expo, I’ve been tasked with writing a short preview piece. A brief article talking about what I hope to see at the show, what it means to the audience, and what going would bring to you, as a reader. That said, I am not qualified to really do this. I have attended every Lightbox Expo (LBX); I’ve sat in the panels and talked with the artists. I have purchased prints and books, and even a plushie over the years. Still, Lightbox Expo isn’t for me.
