While teams and players need to remember that a baseball season is a marathon and not a sprint, they also have to remember that player development is not linear and often takes years. The minor-league season is less than three weeks old. It is far too early to make any grand decisions about a player or prospect at this point. The prospects are just passing 50 plate appearances. If things go well, they are going to get 500-550 plate appearances.
