Porzingis was forced to leave Game 1 of the second round against the New York Knicks early due to an illness. Boston then brought Porzingis off the bench for Games 2 and 3 of the series. This illness is believed to be related to the one that caused the Celtics center to miss several games in March. At that time, doctors were unable to determine exactly what it was that was plaguing Porzingis.

Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and De'Andre Hunter participated in shootaround with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday and are questionable for Game 3 at the Indiana Pacers. Garland is expected to play as he deals with turf toe. "I'm expecting Darius Garland to definitely be in tonight," said Shams Charania on The Pat McAfee Show. "He wants to play. He wants to give it a go." Mobley is dealing with a sprained ankle, while Hunter has a sprained right thumb.

Stephen Curry is rehabilitating his hamstring strain and is not expected to potentially play until Game 6. The Golden State Warriors return home to play the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 with the series tied 1-1. In order for Curry to have a chance to play in Game 6, the Warriors will have to win one game fully without him. The Warriors were able to win Game 1 with Curry leaving due to the injury in the first half. "He will be reevaluated on Wednesday," said Shams Charania.

Woodson spent the last four years as head coach of Indiana before stepping down after this season. Woodson last coached in the NBA with the Knicks during the 2020-21 season as an assistant on Tom Thibodeau's staff.

Longtime NBA coach Mike Woodson has agreed to a deal to join Doug Christie's Sacramento Kings staff as associate head coach, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. Woodson spent the past four years as the coach at Indiana, where he played under Bob Knight from 1976 to 1980 before being selected in the first round of the 1980 NBA draft by the New York Knicks.
